QUESTION:
Does yamaha make a fretless bass?
I am looking for a cheap but quality fretless bass guitar and i seem to like yamaha. I cant seem to find out if they make a fretles or not. if so, what is the model, and were can i find one?

				ANSWER:
Hey Mark:

I am not sure if the bass on Ebay is still in production. Most of what ive seen on Yamaha's site for fretless basses is around 499 for current production models.

Here is a link for the RBX 260F on Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/WOW-Yamaha-RBX260F-Fretless-Electric-Bass-Guitar_W0QQitemZ390055989135QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGuitar?hash=item5ad1260f8f&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A2102|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

That particular model is used, and personally, at an opening bid of 149, I would not be inclined to go more than 20 bucks higher for that bass. Especially with having to pay for shipping.

The bridge on that bass is VERY poor, and its also one of Yamah'a very cheap models. I have played the fretted version of that bass years ago, and the pick-ups were very weak, and not a lot of tone was available with that bass.

I'm going to enclose a link for an Ibanez fretless, and at 299, this is a GREAT entry level fretless that will last a long time, plus, be "stage-worthy" if your playing in a band.
Here's the link:

http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-IBA-SR300F-PW

As with all the SR series basses by Ibanez, this has a super fast and easy playing neck. The bridge on this bass is very good, plus, the guitar stays in tune real well, unlike the RBX260F. Pickups on the Ibanez are very good, and there's alot of eq flexibility too.

I have played the fretted and fretless models of the Ibanez, and the build quality, fit and finish, and how well each bass played was very consistent.

Hope this has helped, and congrats on going fretless!

Gibson Les Paul Custom Guitar

A brand new Custom costs over ,000. No longer strictly the Black Beauty, this guitar is also available in other colors and finishes such as Cherry Sun Burst and Antique White, among others.

The Gibson Les Paul Custom guitar is one of many variations of the standard and very popular Les Paul. This model is probably the more expensive ones in the Gibson catalogue, and is intended for players or collectors looking for a superior quality instrument. It was designed by notable guitarist and inventor Les Paul, who worked with Gibson to produce the original version in 1952.

			QUESTION:
Does anyone have opinions ... or warnings about a Washburn Fretless Bass?
I am considering buying one sometime over the summer. From where I am, it is very hard, and rare to find a fretless bass for sale in a retail store, and I don't want to buy online because I like to play the instrument before I buy it. ..You know, quality issues and stuff like that.

So, any suggestions, or warnings that I should pay attention to?

				ANSWER:
Fretless basses are harder to come by. Washburn products are usually pretty good... as long as it is the higher-end stuff. I've never played a fretless bass, but I have played a lot of Washburns. Warnings would be.. always buy from a reputable seller.. always try to play an instrument before you buy it, and if you are unsure.. ask a professional to look at it first. I know this isn't exactly what you wanted to hear, but it's all i know.

			QUESTION:
Is this guitar good? Washburn Taurus?
I go college, I'm in a band...@tm I use a fretless Ibanez SDGR...I've had it 4 2 maybe 3 years...and about a week ago i realised I dont really like the sound...because its fretless u hav 2 pin point the exact right place 2 make it sound good and I don't like that.
So because I'm @ college, I decided 2 apply 4 a grant 4 a new bass guitar...@tm I'm looking @ a Washburn Taurus natural mahogany bass. Mainly because it looks fantastic and has fret's on the neck.
Does anyone who has any experience with bass guitars know which bass' are better 2 go 4...preferably under £500 4 now?
Our college band play rock music...sort of like Blink 182, Boys like girls, rise against etc.

please do come up with answeres 4 me =]

				ANSWER:
Washburn basses are great. They've got a good fat tone, lots of warm depth. However, they're not often used in rock music - they're too expensive, and in comparison to some other basses they're not very tough. For your budget and musical style, I would recommend looking in to a Fender Precision, or a Rickenbacker, or an Ernie Ball Musicman, or maybe a Schecter. I think my overall pick would be the Fender, probably, but I think you'll find all these basses durable, a bit cheaper, they all sound great, and they'll work perfect for rock.
